Here is my combined experience CV (my first google docs attempt, fingers crossed)

Task 1a

I thought i'd post my biography that is used at one of the schools I teach at, it talks about my past performing, casting and teaching experience so it could be used as a base for different jobs.... I queried on a previous post what to include on my CV but this is an example of how you can combine experiences to make your biography/personal statement stronger.

Nina Louise Standen

Nina started training at the age of 8 at the Liz Burville Dance centre in Bexley. What started of as just a hobby quickly changed into a lifetime passion and career choice. Nina trained in many forms of dance, drama and singing and completed her I.S.T.D and L.A.M.D.A qualifications aswell as her G.C.S.E’s in Drama and Dance at school. Alongside this she performed in Pantomime’s in The Orchard Theatre, Performed in the Parades in Eurodisney and toured in a cabaret group most weekends. At the age of 15 knowing that this is what she wanted to pursue she auditioned for London College’s and was lucky enough to be granted a full time Scholarship to The Urdang Academy in Central London where her training continued till she was 19 and was awarded a Diploma in Musical Theatre. Whilst at college she performed in many London theatres and was in the Advanced acting Group. After leaving college Nina performed on a cruise ship for 2 years travelling the world and gaining the experience, which eventually landed her the role of company manager. After 2 years Nina felt it was time to return to solid ground and decided to continue her studies and is now topping up her diploma to a BA Honours degree in Professional Arts. Since returning Nina has performed In the Camden People’s theatre in a professional Actors showcase and interned with Casting Directors around London to learn about Casting and auditions in London’s west end including New productions for Andrew Lloyd Webber. All of this has helped Nina to develop a wide range of experience which she hopes she can pass on to all students and she hopes that they learn to love acting as much as she does!

1st Day back at Campus.

So I returned to campus with  fresh head last week, and am positive and looking forward to blogging and sharing with fellow BAPPers...
The main objective of the session seemed to be working out what the course would do for each of us individually. To use our past as an energy to push us forward to reach our goals, the imagery of a rocket was used and we thought about the idea of adding "wings" to broaden our experience and knowledge. My group tried to draw a diagram that would show a way in which all our knowledge was entangled and we could learn from each other even if we were aiming for a different goal. The idea of a tube map was put forward by Hannah which I thought was good imagery as we can jump off at any point in our career just like a tube stop and then jump back on and head in a different direction. We can spend any length of time on our journey and it could be simple or complex with many changes.
